Corporate-wide Quality Management Systems
Quality assurance has moved from production inspection to management’s total commitment and responsibility for all aspects of defect prevention. When the new ISO 9001:2000 product design standard was released by ISO, Chicago White Metal Casting became the first custom die caster to receive this accreditation. CWM’s CNC Machining Technologies and Contract Manufacturing divisions are now ISO 9001:2000 certified as well. (More) (Back to Top)
Best-in-Class Environmental Practices
Throughout its offices and plant, CWM demonstrates concern for the environment: Process water is recycled to minimize entry in the waste stream; CWM’s cogeneration plant conserves power for peak loads: Waste materials are segregated for weekly pickup and recycling; Products are purchased with an eye for their recycled source. Its basic custom production, of course, is recyclable Al, Mg and Zn die cast parts. The Environmental Management System of CWM and all of its divisions are ISO 14001 Certified. And CWM is the only American custom die caster to receive National Environmental Achievement recognition from the EPA. (More) (Back to Top)
